Alabama Emergency Net Y Training Net

The Alabama Emergency Net Y is conducted each Tuesday Night at 8:30 p.m. local time on the GARC Repeater 147.160+. A. E. N. Y. is a member of the National Traffic System.

Alabama Emergency Net Y Training Net Preamble

CQ CQ CQ Calling all amateur radio operators for the A. E. N. Y. Training Net which meets on this frequency 147.160- alternate 146.820+ each Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m.

The purpose of this net is to train amateur radio operators to be more proficient in handling emergency traffic and weather watches.

Our liaison station for tonight is _______(give liaison callsign)

Please give your callsign, name and QTH when checking in.

We will start the net now with priority traffic.

Do we have any formal or informal traffic, business, bulletins or announcements for the net at this time?

We will now begin roll call with W's, K-KC, KE-KF, any K prefix, N and A's.

Etowah County Skywarn Net

The Etowah County Skywarn Net (i.e. Alabama Emergency Net Y) is activated in the event of impending severe weather. Severe weather that could cause net activation includes, but is not limited to, tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flash flooding, and winter storms. The Etowah County Skywarn Net is usually conducted on the 146.820- repeater with the GARC 147.160- repeater as backup. In the event of severe weather monitor the 146.820- repeater for net activation.
